Painless Pie Crust
Okay, so, making your own pie crust can be daunting - trust me, I’ve had a few mishaps - but I assure you it’s totally worth the hassle. Not only does it turn out better, but it’s super fulfilling.
This is basically Alton Brown’s recipe (no adaptations needed, and not recommended). Follow the link to watch the sexy man do it himself, or read below for my walkthrough if you don’t have fancy things like a food processor or large plastic zipper bags.
What you will need:
- six tablespoons of butter
- two tablespoons of vegetable shortening (yeah, yeah)
- one cup of all-purpose flour
- one half teaspoon of salt
- ice water
